Men carrying crowbars stole parcels from a delivery driver doing his rounds in Loughborough.

The driver, a man in his 60s, was in Cornflower Road at about 08:40 BST on Wednesday when two men approached his van.

The attackers - two men wearing balaclavas - pulled him from his van, said Leicestershire Police, before taking a number of packages and putting them into a grey Audi A3.

The car then left the area in the direction of Carnation Road and on to the A6004, according to the force.

The driver was not injured in the incident.

Appealing for witnesses to the theft, Det Con Sadie Adams said the area would have been busy with commuters and people carrying out the school run.

She said: “If you saw the incident occur or people in the area acting in a manner that seemed unusual or suspicious, please get in touch. I’m also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen the Audi leaving the area.”
