Barn fire breaks out near motorway

A barn fire has broken out near a busy a motorway, leading to warnings for motorists.
The building close to the A1(M) in Sherburn House village, to the east of Durham, caught fire on Sunday morning.
A picture shared on social media showed the barn engulfed in flames and mostly destroyed.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) has advised motorists to keep their windows and air vents closed as they drive past the area.
"We ask motorists travelling in the area along the A1 to keep their windows closed, turn off air conditioning and keep their air vents closed as they pass the area," a CDDFRS spokesperson said.
The fire service sent five crews to the scene at about 08:30 GMT.
The spokesperson added: "As of 12.50pm, crews are starting to withdraw from the scene but a fire and rescue presence should be expected for the foreseeable."
No-one has been reported injured.
