Motorcyclist in critical condition after car crash

A man has been left in a critical condition in hospital after his motorcycle was in a collision with a car outside a theme park in North Yorkshire.

The man, 60, was heading north from Ripon on an Aprilia motorcycle on the A6108 on the outskirts of North Stainley at 15:35 BST on Monday.

The collision occurred when a blue BMW X2 car was turning out of Lightwater Valley.

The male driver of the car, 61, was uninjured, but the motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to get in touch with police.
