Driver charged after elderly couple die in crash

A woman has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after an elderly couple were killed in a crash.

Police said a Ford Mondeo and a Jaguar XF were involved in the collision near the junction of Highfield Lane and Nottingham Road, in Chaddesden, Derby, on 14 June 2023.

A passenger in the Jaguar, a woman in her 80s, died at the scene while her husband, who was also in his 80s and was driving, died in hospital.

A 63-year-old woman from Chaddesden is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on 17 October.
