A popular restaurant and wedding venue in a 19th Century manor has been saved from closure.
According to the Local Democracy reporting service, The Mansion House in Leeds' Roundhay Park, suffered from "post-covid trading difficulties”.
The venue would have closed down and the building left empty if a new deal with Leeds City Council had not been reached.
Dine who run The Mansion House have been approached for comment.
The council and Dine had been "in discussions" to allow the firm to continue to operate within the park.
Terms of the agreement and how much Dine will now pay in rent have not been revealed.
A council report said the building would have to either be re-let or used for council purposes if the restaurant stopped trading.
It added: “This would require a fit out and associated costs to enable trading by any incoming party.
“This option would be likely to result in a void period during marketing the property and a risk of vandalism and anti-social behaviour and additional security costs."
The council said the new deal had “more benefits as opposed to risks”.
