A pool player from Hull has gone viral on social media after hitting an impressive shot in a recent tournament.

Commentators looked on in disbelief as Carl 'Houdini' Morris, 47, potted his last remaining red by swerving the cue ball around three yellow balls.

The former world champion only recently returned to the sport after 10 years away.

When interviewed by BBC Look North, Morris was able to recreate the shot which he described as "one in 10,000 or one in 100,000".

Morris said he could not believe how much attention the shot was getting

After losing his hearing to meningitis aged three, Morris said discovering pool had changed his life.

"I think pool was a lifesaver for me because it was a sport where I didn't need to communicate," he said.

The 47-year-old said he thought he had done "everything there is to do in pool" until the shot that went viral.

"I mean, I've done some spectacular shots in the about three decades that I've been playing, but I don't think I've quite done anything like that," he added.
