Arrests after motorcyclist dies following crash

Two people have been arrested after a motorcyclist died after a collision in East Sussex.

Emergency services were called to reports of a motorcyclist seriously injured in Ditchling Road, Brighton, at about 11:15 BST on Friday.

A 58-year-old man, from East Grinstead in West Sussex, was declared dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

A man, 68, and a woman, 67, both from Steyning in West Sussex, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road accident.

They have both been released on bail while enquiries continue, police said.

Sussex Police urged anyone who may have seen either a white Yamaha motorcycle or a silver Suzuki Jimny being driven in the area to contact them.
