Two men taken to hospital after city violence

Cambridgeshire Constabulary arrested four people who all remain in custody

Two men have been seriously hurt and a number of teenagers have been arrested following violence in a city centre.

Police attended Westgate in Peterborough at about 01:50 GMT.

The men were taken to hospital, but their injuries were not said to be life-threatening.

The four arrests include a 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys.

Police have cordoned off an area, which will remain in place while investigations continue.

A 15-year-old girl, from Stamford, Lincolnshire, has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Two 17-year-old boys, from Peterborough, and a 27-year-old man, from London, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

They all remain in police custody at Thorpe Wood police station.
