A man alleged to be a senior figure in the Republic of Ireland's Kinahan organised crime gang has been extradited to the UK.
Liam Byrne, from Dublin, was extradited from Spain on Tuesday and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Wednesday charged with firearms offences.
He was remanded into custody.
The 43-year-old was arrested by the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) in Majorca in June.
"The arrest and extradition of Liam Byrne highlights the NCA's ongoing work to target the alleged criminal activities of the Kinahan organised crime group," the NCA's Craig Turner said.
In 2016, Mr Byrne's brother David was shot dead at a boxing event in Dublin in 2016 as part of a feud between the Kinahan and Hutch crime gangs.
In April, 60-year-old Gerard Hutch was found not guilty of murdering David Byrne.
Irish authorities had previously described Liam Byrne in court as being closely aligned to the Kinahan gang.
He is due to appear in court again on 8 January.
Another suspected member of the group, 22-year-old Jack Kavanagh, who was arrested at Malaga airport in May, remains in custody in Spain, the NCA said.
