Teenager inspired after co-star role with actress

A teenager has said starring in a film alongside actress Millie Bobby Brown has left her feeling inspired to pursue a career in acting.

Brooke Carter, from Coventry, plays the role of Princess Elodie's younger sister, named Floria, in the Netflix film Damsel.

The 14-year-old liked the fact she and Millie were both cast roles for Netflix at the age of 11, after acting from a young age.

"It was nice to learn things off [Millie], she was always there to help and give me some tips," Brooke said.

She described Millie as a warm person who treated her like a best friend when they worked together.

From meeting famous actors to seeing herself on the TV, Brooke said she was living the dream.

"It's absolutely brilliant, I love acting, I love pretending to be people that I'm not," she said.

Switching between Coventry and Hollywood has not been a problem for her, she said, as she has frequently had to study on set, juggling school work with acting.

"My friends are used to me going away for a while, it's really different having to tutor, but I've kinda gotten used to it," she said.

Brooke joined an acting agency at the age of five and has previously featured in films like The Alienist and The Irregulars.

She said she has many dreams for the future. including featuring in a high-school movie to live the "American life" and being cast in a Damsel sequel.
