Hydro warns fans not to camp before Niall Horan gig

Music fans attending the OVO Hydro arena in Glasgow have been told by venue bosses not to camp out ahead of concerts.
The warning comes ahead of Wednesday's show by pop star Niall Horan at the the 14,000-capacity venue.
Earlier this month, fans of The 1975 braved sub-zero temperatures to camp for two nights to secure their spot in front of the stage
In a social media post, Hydro bosses said overnight camping was a safety problem due to the busy state of the Hydro and surrounding buildings, which includes the SEC Armadillo.
Guidelines on the Hydro's website have warned against the practice for some time.
But it is unusual for a public statement about specific events.
The statement said: "Please remember, early queuing on Campus is discouraged - it won’t guarantee a place at the front of the stage.
"Queuing/camping overnight on Campus is not permitted – the safety of the public attending events on our Campus is our highest priority, especially considering the active nature of our campus with other various events taking place."
It added that Niall Horan fans should still leave suitable time for security checks and to access the building.
The former One Direction member is touring his chart-topping album from 2023, The Show.
Camping out before major gigs has become increasingly common in recent years, including at large stadium shows such as Harry Styles performance at Murrayfield.
When the 1975 performed around 50 fans were already camped at the venue on the morning of 7 February - the day before the gig was to take place.
At the time fans told BBC Scotland News that they would keep warm through the night thanks to layers of clothing and blankets inside their tents.
