Residents assured flooding is being addressed

People living in a flood-affected village have been told steps are being taken to address the problem.
A land drainage issue behind The Dale in Church Aston, Shropshire, has been blamed for the flooding, which has happened a number of times in the last few years.
Andrew Eade, the Telford and Wrekin councillor for the area, said when it happens a "torrent" of water has come off a nearby field into people's gardens.
The council said it "continues to engage with the landowners" on the issue and the owners "have carried out surveys and are planning the necessary mitigation works".
Alan Smith, who lives in the affected area, said: “The last two times [it has flooded] have been the deepest I have known it, it went right up my bank."
He also said he was told water was also coming from the site of new homes and added: "That’s an area that they shouldn’t be building because it causes issues for residents.”
Neighbour Andy Stokes, said he has had to give up keeping chickens because of the flooding.
He also raised concerns about the prospect of more homes being built nearby.
Mike Stansfield's garden has been flooded a number of times.
“I’ve got all my vegetable pots down there, but I can’t do anything," he said.
Telford and Wrekin Council said it has also been talking with Bloor Homes, which is in the process of building a 160-home development in the village.
The authority said it was aiming to "identify the appropriate solution to issues at the development site".
Talking about the existing flooding issues, it added: "We will continue to monitor the situation, and consider all options, including legal action, if the issue is not promptly resolved."
