Arrest after Pride flag torn down and burned

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage

A man, aged in his twenties, has been arrested after a Pride flag was torn down and burned.

Avon and Somerset Police said the flag was removed from outside Weston-super-Mare Town Council's Grove House overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

A man, who is of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on Friday.

Officers have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
