A man has been left with broken ribs and facial cuts and fractures after a robbery in the centre of Stroud.

Gloucestershire Police said the 54-year-old also had his wallet, containing nearly £200 in cash, stolen.

It is not known exactly where the incident happened, but the victim was found injured on the floor outside Betfred on the High Street shortly before midday on Tuesday 28 May.

He was left requiring continuing medical treatment after the attack, police added.

Officers are looking to hear from anyone who was in the area between 11:00 and 12:10 BST that day who may have information which could assist the investigation.
