Woman leaves hotel without paying £800 bill

A woman racked up a £800 bill, wining and dining at a hotel over three days before leaving without paying, the hotel owner has claimed.
Paul Jenkins, owner of the Diplomat Hotel in Felinfoel, Carmarthenshire, said the woman spent three nights at the hotel between 10-13 June.
He said staff had been left "gutted" after claiming she "disappeared without a trace" without paying her £802.55 bill.
Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating and appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
Mr Jenkins said he believed the woman booked under a false corporate name.
He said: “She walked out without checking out in the morning.
“She just disappeared without any trace at all.
“Housekeepers didn’t know if she was in the room or not, and once we knew what happened, we opened the door and she had gone.”
Mr Jenkins said the woman ordered fish and chips, steak, wine, and “she did enjoy herself".
He said: “We have never had a problem like this, sometimes someone forgets, but it’s quite a lot to deal with.
“After Covid, hospitality businesses have suffered, and we are busy now but it all makes a difference.
"All the bills need to be paid. It’s not nice, we were pretty gutted.”
The hotel shared images of the woman from CCTV on social media, in the hope she would be found.
He said: “The response has been fantastic, but we still don’t know who she is.
“It would be nice if she’s found and maybe we can recoup some of the money, but we hope that she doesn’t do this somewhere else.”
Police said: “Police received a call on Monday afternoon, 17 June, reporting a woman had stayed at the Diplomat Hotel, Llanelli and left without paying.
“The woman had stayed at the hotel on Monday 10, Tuesday, 11 and Wednesday 12 June 2024.
“Inquiries are being made to identify the woman," the force added.
