A19 closed after serious collision at crossroads

The A19 has been closed after a "serious" collision at a crossroads in North Yorkshire earlier today.
North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance are attending the incident between Thirsk and Easingwold and there are a number of diversions in place.
The collision, believed to involve two vehicles, took place at the Carlton Husthwaite and Hutton Sessay junction.
The road is expected to be closed for several hours and drivers have been advised to seek alternative routes.
