Man, 64, dies in two-car crash

A man has died in a crash involving two cars in Surrey.

The collision happened on the B3000 in Compton on Saturday afternoon.

A 64-year-old man driving a white Nissan Micra died at the scene, police said.

The driver of a blue Mazda 2 was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers said the next of kin of the deceased had been informed and were being supported by officers.

The B3000 was closed between Priorsfield Road and The Street in order for police to conduct an investigation, but was reopened at around 21:00.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash or that has information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Surrey Police.
