Designs to regenerate an area of Wolverhampton are set to be revealed for the first time.

The five acre (two hectare) site at St George's is expected to include shops, green streets, workspaces and hundreds of homes.

Four teams of architects will present their ideas at The Halls in the city centre on 17 July, with residents invited to attend and provide feedback on the plans.

“We all share the ambition to make St George’s the jewel in Wolverhampton’s crown," developers Capital & Centric said.

"We want to see an exciting neighbourhood that people can be proud of, where there’s something for everyone," they added.

Architects have been working up their plans since spring as part of a competition to design a diverse neighbourhood in the centre of Wolverhampton.

It has been led by City of Wolverhampton Council, developers Capital & Centric and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
