The body of a man in his 20s has been found in the water near a Dorset seaside resort.
Dorset Police closed a section of Weymouth beach after it received a report at 10:46 BST that a body had been discovered in the water near Weymouth Pavilion.
The man's family has been informed and a cordon remains in place at the scene while officers investigate the death, police said.
Weymouth Town Council said on social media it would post an update when the beach reopened.
South Western Ambulance Service attended the beach and a spokesperson for the group said: “We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer to the scene.”
