Zoo awarded lottery funds to improve accessibility

Jersey Zoo has done an audit to look at areas for improvement

Jersey Zoo has been awarded £30,000 of Channel Islands Lottery funding by the Association of Jersey Charities (AJC).

The money would be used to improve accessibility across the site for visitors living with disabilities, the zoo said.

It said it was working with local people and specialist organisations to make the zoo an inclusive and enjoyable destination for all.

The zoo said the grant would be used to carry out the first phase of improvements including enhanced access to enclosures and buildings, as well as flooring, lighting and ramp upgrades.

An accessibility audit has been carried out to identify areas of improvement.
