A dance coach got a proposal at the end of her school's Christmas performance that took her completely by surprise.

Lauren Bollans, from Coseley, Dudley, was stunned when her partner Callum Goodby appeared on stage to pop the question.

The NN Cheer and Dance Academy teacher said she had been left overwhelmed by the gesture.

The 21-year-old immediately said yes and described the moment, at Dormston Mill Youth Theatre in Dudley, as perfect.

Speaking to BBC Radio WM, Ms Bollans said the proposal was a massive surprise.

She explained she had not questioned why Mr Goodby was on stage with flowers at first, thinking he might have been there to congratulate her on the show.

'Everyone I love was there'

"He's normally sat in the audience watching," Ms Bollans said.

"It was a perfect way to do it because everyone who I loved was there."

Newly-engaged Ms Bollans joked she did not think Mr Goodby would be brave enough to propose so publicly.

He admitted he didn't have long to pull the elaborate scheme together and had hatched the plan over the course of two weeks.

The brave boyfriend bought the ring after sneakily obtaining Ms Bollans' finger size.

He then contacted the dance school to get help to execute the proposal.

"I wanted to get up on stage because I thought it was where Lauren would like it the most," Mr Goodby said.

"I was completely fine until I got on the stage. That's when it hit me and I started shaking a little bit."
