Vera's thanks for cards ahead of 100th birthday

A care home resident said she felt "extremely valued" as dozens of cards arrived to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Vera Radford has received around 75 cards ahead of her birthday on 27 April.
Staff at Saltshouse Haven Care Home in Hull made an appeal on social media and BBC Radio Humberside for people to send their best wishes to Vera.
The care home described her as "a social person who likes to have a good talk".
Vera was a firefighter during World War Two. She was later a nursery nurse and worked in a bakery.
She has one son and was married for 50 years before her husband passed away.
Sophie Wilson, unit manager of Preston House at Saltshouse Haven Care Home, said Vera loves arts and crafts.
"Vera is a social person and likes to have a good talk with the residents about what she has done in the past," she added.
'Quite emotional'
Vera said: "This is appreciated and does not go unnoticed. I will never know how to repay everyone for all they have done.
"I feel extremely valued and loved."
Ms Wilson said: "It is quite emotional because reaching 100 is an achievement. We do not see people reach that age very often.
"It is very special for people in the care home."
Vera's son, Mike, said he wished his mum "a very happy 100th birthday".
To celebrate her birthday, the care home has booked a singer for 24 April who will be performing songs from the 60s.
They have also bought her a '100' crown, fit for a queen, for her party on 27 April.
Both Vera and Saltshouse Haven Care Home have thanked everyone involved in making her 100th birthday as special as possible.
Vera will receive a special letter to mark her 100th birthday from King Charles III.
