A Strictly Come Dancing couple have imparted their best advice to an 83-year-old woman who is learning to dance again.

Comedy actress Sarah Hadland and professional partner Vito Coppola told Brenda Grebol to "dance with your heart" in a short video message.

Ms Grebol told staff at Mountfitchet House, in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, that she wanted to pick up her dancing shoes once again.

"I'm over the moon and can’t believe Vito and Sarah have sent me a video," she said.

"I took their advice on board and really danced with my heart and listened to my teacher."

Ms Grebol is an avid fan of the BBC One show, and with the help of the care home and a dance teacher, she has learnt the waltz, cha-cha-cha and jive.

She first started dancing with school friends when she was 11 and she went on to dance at the Old Winding Way social club in Dagenham, east London, which was also attended by the late England footballer Terry Venables.

One of her most cherished moments was picking up dance moves from locals in Spain with her husband, where the pair first met.
