A police appeal has been launched after a woman was assaulted on her morning run in Derby.

The woman was jogging along the Great Northern Greenway behind the Paddock pub in Breadsall Hilltop, shortly before 07:00 BST on Saturday.

Officers said a man - aged in his late 30s and wearing a bright blue puffer jacket and blue jeans - grabbed the woman, pushed her to the floor and shouted at her before quickly walking off along a separate path towards Hungerhill Close.

Police are now urging anyone who was in the area between 06:30 and 07:00 to come forward with information, in particular, a woman who was walking a dog along the footpath.
