An 83-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision in County Tyrone earlier this month.

Police have named the victim as Brendan Conlan, from the Cookstown area.

The collision happened at around 16:35 BST on 20 October on the Tamlaght Road, just outside of Coagh.

The driver of a red coloured Volkswagen Caddy, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Brendan Conlan, who was driving a grey coloured Peugeot 208, was also taken to hospital for treatment but subsequently passed away from his injuries.

Witness appeal

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) collision investigation unit are examining the circumstances of the collision.

They want to hear from witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam or other footage.

Police believe a transit-style van was at or near the scene of the crash and officers are asking the driver to come forward.
