Police say there have been incidents of anti-social behaviour in the docks area

A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with an alleged shooting with an air gun.

Gloucestershire Police said the incident happened when a "large group of youths" were engaging in anti-social behaviour in Gloucester Docks on 14 September.

When the group were challenged when they tried to enter a shop, one of them fired pellets at the owner, the force added.

A 15 year old from the city was arrested on suspicion of possessing an air gun with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been released on bail while the investigation continues.

Police put a dispersal order in place on the docks last weekend to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.

The order was in place after reports that a group of youths on bicycles were causing "a nuisance" in Gloucester city centre, officers said.

Sgt Jade Chetcuti from the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "A number of youths on bicycles have been causing problems of anti-social behaviour for a number of weeks in this part of the city.

"Their irresponsible behaviour is a nuisance to people who have a right to live in and visit our city without fear.

"This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and any offences will be dealt with robustly.”
