Crew member dies after accident on cruise ship

A spokesperson for P&O Cruises expressed condolences and confirmed support is being provided to the crew member's family and friends

A member of crew has died onboard the P&O cruise ship, Arvia after an accident the company has confirmed.
An investigation into the incident that led to the unnamed man's death on Sunday are ongoing, P&O Cruises said.
A spokesperson for the cruise firm said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends both on board and at home and we are providing every possible support to them."
The 16-deck Arvia left Southampton on Friday for a 14 night transatlantic crossing to the Caribbean and is due to arrive in Barbados on 7 November.
The ship that can have up to 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew onboard is currently en route to Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
