A man has died following a crash on a motorway exit slip road.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to junction 1 of the M32 for Hambrook in Bristol following a "serious injury collision" between four cars and a van at about 10:00 BST.

"Sadly the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene," said the force, adding that his next of kin had been contacted.

Two other people were injured and taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles remains in hospital, and her family have been contacted, said a police spokesperson.

They added that a male driver of another vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment, but was due to be discharged later on Thursday.
