A fan zone for 2,000 spectators is to open in Brighton, as the city prepares to host two matches in the Women's Rugby World Cup.

England will play Australia at the Amex Stadium on 6 September, with New Zealand playing Ireland at the same venue the following day.

The fan zone at Victoria Gardens in Marlborough Place will be open from 4 to 7 September.

The tournament kicked off on Friday as England triumphed over the USA with a 69-7 win. The final takes place on 27 September.

The fan zone will include food stalls and a licensed bar, music and dance performances and taster sessions for non-contact rugby.

As well as showing the action on a big screen, there will also be an after party with DJs after the England-Australia game, until 23:00 BST.

The fan zone opens at 13:00 on 4 and 5 September and 11:00 on 6 September. Entry is free.
