A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenage girl reported being raped at the Camper Calling music festival in Warwickshire.

Officers were called to the event at Ragley Hall, Alcester, at about 23:40 BST on Friday, Warwickshire Police said.

The boy, from Redditch, is currently in custody and a police presence is in place at the event, the force said, adding the girl was being supported by specialist officers and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Camper Calling said in a statement its on-site security team was called to respond to an incident and "acted promptly and effectively" by contacting police.

"We would like to reassure all our visitors that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to festivalgoers.

"The welfare of our attendees remains our highest priority."

It appealed for anyone with information to contact Warwickshire Police.
