A new deputy chief executive has been appointed at Surrey County Council (SCC).
Andy Brown, who is currently deputy chief executive and director of resources at Wiltshire Council, will also be executive director of finances and corporate services.
He is expected to take up his new role subject to ratification at a full council meeting on 8 October.
Mr Brown said he was "delighted" to be joining a "high-performing council that is well-known and respected".
Mr Brown is a qualified chartered management accountant with over 25 years of experience in finance and local government.
He said he was "passionate about public service" and "improving outcomes for the population we serve”.
Terence Herbert, the chief executive of SCC, worked with Mr Brown in Wiltshire before his own appointment in August.
He said Mr Brown's "track record and experience to date shows he is perfectly poised help us meet the challenges that lie ahead as we navigate increasing demand and other economic pressures".
SCC ran a public consultation in September for ideas to help the authority balance its books for the financial year 2025/26.
