Norfolk hottest place in the UK overnight
- Published
Provisional figures revealed parts of Norfolk were the hottest in the United Kingdom overnight.
Met Office figures show Monday's overnight lows dropped to 18.2C (65F) in Cromer.
Forecasters said Monday would be the peak of the current heat spike, with temperatures due to ease as the week continued.
Elsewhere in the East of England, Monday was declared the hottest day of the year so far, with the highest temperature of 34.8C (95F) recorded in Cambridge.
Last night's provisional high in Cromer does not make it a 'tropical night'.
The Met Office classify those when temperatures stay at or above 20C (68F) and tend to be recorded in large cities and coastal areas.
