Train services have been disrupted after a person was hit and killed by a train.
East Midlands Railway (EMR) said journeys had been cancelled, disrupted or revised following the incident between Kettering and Wellingborough stations in Northamptonshire at about 12:45 BST.
The company said no trains were running in either direction between Bedford and Kettering.
EMR said disruption was "likely for the remainder of the day" on services to and from London St Pancras with a reduced number of trains in operation.
Passengers were advised to take alternative routes.
Tickets were accepted on other routes and tickets dated for Tuesday were also valid for travel on Wednesday, EMR said.
The British Transport Police confirmed its officers and paramedics were called to the line following a report of a casualty on the tracks.
"Sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene," a spokesperson said.
Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances leading up to their death.
