A four-legged stowaway was saved by a whisker after boarding an early morning train from Brighouse to Manchester Airport.
The adventurous feline ended up nearly 50 miles (80km) from home after jumping aboard on 28 October at 03:55 GMT.
It was not the first time Angel, a 15-year-old black-and-white cat, had taken a trip on public transport - having previously boarded a rail replacement bus.
Luckily the pet landed on her paws, with a member of TransPennine Express staff looking after her before taking her back home the next day.
Conductor Will Saunders said he had spotted the unexpected passenger "confidently padding up and down the train".
When the train had arrived at its destination of Manchester Airport after the one hour and 19 minute journey, Mr Saunders decided to take Angel home with him to Stockport.
He contacted the number on the cat's collar and drove the well-travelled pet home the next day, much to the relief of her owners.
He said: "As a cat lover myself, I couldn't leave her to fend for herself.
"She was so calm and confident on the train - it was like she'd done it before.
"I'm just glad we could keep her safe and get her back home. She's clearly a much-loved cat."
