Man dies after single-car crash in Strabane

A man has died following a single-car crash in Strabane, County Tyrone, on Sunday morning.

He was 29-year-old Eoin Lynch, from the Castlederg area.

Police received a report shortly before 07:40 GMT that a white coloured Toyota Land Cruiser had been involved in a crash on the Orchard Road.

Mr Lynch, who was inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for a time with diversions in place but has since reopened.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam footage to contact them.

Meanwhile, a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a separate crash in Cookstown, also in County Tyrone.

The crash, which involved two cars, occurred at about 01:40 GMT on Sunday morning on the Drumgrass Road.

A number of other people received minor injuries.

One man was arrested at the scene but has subsequently been released on police bail.
