A woman has died in a three-vehicle crash that closed a stretch of dual carriageway in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to the collision, which involved two cars and a van on the A46 near Screveton at about 22:30 GMT on Saturday.

The 49-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

The road remained shut southbound while investigations took place, but this closure was lifted shortly before 15:00 on Sunday.

Officers said they wanted to hear from anyone who could assist with information or had relevant dashcam footage.

They also thanked motorists for their patience while road closures were in place.
