Two people have been taken to hospital after a school minibus and a car crashed in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were called to the A944 at Alford at about 15:05.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said two patients were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police Scotland said the A944 was closed in both directions between Alford and Whitehouse, and asked drivers to avoid the area.

Aberdeenshire Council said: “We are aware of a collision involving a school transport service this afternoon on the A944,", adding: “Pupils are safe."
