Plans to build a 29-storey block of more than 400 flats near Sheffield railway station have been submitted.

Developers put forward the scheme for an empty triangular plot of land at the former British Rail Club sports ground, on Farm Road.

The proposals also included communal gardens, a shared working area and roof gardens.

Sheffield City Council is expected to make a decision on the scheme on 29 January, according to planning documents.

Although only five parking bays had been planned for the scheme, 413 cycle spaces would be created, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

A total of 206 of the flats would be one-bedroom apartments, with the rest expected to be a mixture of two and three-bedroom homes.

The site already had planning permission for a 23-storey building of 336 flats, the developers said.
