A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a skip lorry.

It happened on High Road in Broxbourne shortly after 08:15 BST on Tuesday, Hertfordshire Police said.

The crash happened when pupils and parents would have been making their way to a nearby school, said Sgt Luke Jenkins.

Anyone who saw the incident, which happened at the junction with Couzens Lane East, or has a video recording of it, has been asked to contact police.
