Dispersal order issued for city neighbourhood
- Published
Police have issued a dispersal order for part of Worcester following a rise in anti-social behaviour.
The order came into force in Warndon at 17:00 GMT on Wednesday and runs until 17:00 GMT on Friday.
It was in response to anti-social behaviour from youths in the Cranham Drive area of Warndon this week, West Mercia Police said.
The area covered by the order includes Cranham Drive, Shap Drive and the surrounding areas, external.
Police officers can use dispersal orders to direct people suspected of causing anti-social behaviour away from the specified area.
Insp Tanya Beckett asked people not to be alarmed if they noticed more police officers in Warndon.
"The aim of the order is to prevent a minority from ruining it for the majority trying to go about their normal business in peace and for us to provide reassurance to the public," she said.
