Man accused of GBH on woman and burglary

A man accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a woman during a burglary has appeared in court.
The 38-year-old is accused of entering an address in Kings Drive, Egremont, as a trespasser and assaulting a woman on 13 June.
Appearing at Carlisle's magistrates' court, he is also accused of beating the woman and causing criminal damage worth £100 to her mobile phone on 19 May.
No pleas were taken and he was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 15 July.
