A police officer has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run while on duty.
The officer had attempted to speak to the driver of the vehicle before the incident happened on Reservoir Place, Walsall, at about 10:30 GMT.
They were taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after being hit by the car and then pushed against a police vehicle.
The car drove off from the scene and was later found abandoned, West Midlands Police said.
Another police officer also received treatment but was not seriously injured.
Ch Supt Phil Dolby said the force was waiting for further updates on the extent of the officer's injuries.
"We'll be offering them all the support we can, alongside colleagues who were there at the time," he added.
