A man is in a critical but stable condition after suffering head injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the A50 in Staffordshire.

Police and ambulance crews, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, were called to Uttoxeter at around 18:00 BST on Sunday following the collision between a purple Peugeot and a black Ford Kuga.

The Peugeot driver, a man in his forties, was taken to hospital, while the driver of the Ford stayed at the scene to help with inquiries, say Staffordshire Police.

The road was closed to deal with the incident, and anyone who saw the crash happen is urged to call 101.
