A 37-year-old woman has appeared in court accused of killing an Asda security guard in Arbroath.
Prosecutors allege Natasha Smith pushed 61-year-old Alun Harris-Richards, causing him to fall and suffer a cardiac arrest at the Westway Retail Park store.
She faced a charge of culpable homicide during a brief appearance in private at Forfar Sheriff Court.
Ms Smith was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again next week.
Officers were called to the supermarket at about 19:25 on Sunday.
Police Scotland said Mr Harris-Richards, a married father from Arbroath, was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
Ms Smith, of Arbroath, also faces charges of acting in an abusive manner towards other staff members and stealing alcohol.
In a statement issued through Police Scotland, Mr Harris-Richards' family said he was a "much-loved husband, father and bampy" who would be sorely missed.
His family also thanked the emergency services and "all those who assisted."
Asda’s chief people and corporate affairs officer, Hayley Tatum, said the company was "truly saddened" by Mr Harris-Richards death.
"Our deepest condolences are with his friends and family at this difficult time," she said.
"We are providing support to colleagues at our Arbroath store and would like to thank customers for their understanding during this difficult time.”
