Man charged with attempted murder after shooting

A man from West Yorkshire has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm after a vehicle was damaged in a shooting.

Patson Mafaune, 25, of Servia Drive, Leeds, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

He was charged in connection with West Yorkshire Police's investigation into a shooting which caused damage to a vehicle on Burley Road, Leeds, at about 17:10 BST on Thursday.

There were no injuries and police have asked anyone with information to get in touch.

Another 25-year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is still in police custody.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday in connection with the firearms discharge but he has been released on police bail.
