A trail of colourful elephant statues has arrived in Lincoln.

Based on the children’s picture book character Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, there will be 12 elephants to visit.

The trail is among the attractions of Elmer’s Big Art Parade, which is taking place from 13 July to 15 September.

Each of Elmer's friends will be decorated to the theme of famous paintings.

Statue locations

As part of the art parade, there is a weekend of family-friendly activities.

Events are taking place at Waterstones and Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln High Street, Shelf Editions in Saltergate and Central Library in Free School Lane from 11:00 BST on 13 July.

There will also be a chance to meet Elmer as he visits the High Street from 10:00 to 11:00.

Elmer will again make an appearance on 14 July at 10:15, 12:15 and 14:00. Each appearance will be followed by storytime at Waterstones Lincoln.
