A seven-year-old horse has been rescued by firefighters after she became stuck between two trees.

Millie was found trapped in foliage in New Road, Clifton, Bedfordshire, on Wednesday.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said she just needed some "gentle persuasion to walk backwards".

Michelle Faul, her owner, said: "There was not a mark on her. She's fine and has had some physiotherapy and is now back in her field, where she lives."

Millie was checked over by the vets after the incident and was then given the “all clear”.

Ms Faul said firefighters did an "amazing job".

"It could have ended in different circumstances," she added.

"We are so appreciative for all their help and the laughs we all had about poor Millie eating so much at Christmas.”
