Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a thatched cottage in a Buckinghamshire village.

Crews from across the county have attended the fire at Smithfield End in Swanbourne, south west of Bletchley, since about 12:50 GMT.

Road closures are in place on Winslow Road and Station Road, and people have been asked to avoid the area.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said people living close by should keep their doors and windows closed due to heavy smoke.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

"Crews continue to work hard and will be on scene for some considerable time," the fire service added.
