Two members of the Irish Defence Forces have been injured during a parachute display team training session.

The Defence Forces are the armed forces of Ireland, including the army, air corps, naval service and reserve defence forces.

The personnel were hurt on landing during the session at the Defences Forces Training Centre on Thursday.

Both were taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and are in a stable condition, the Defence Forces (DF) confirmed.

It said an investigation into the incident is ongoing "as per DF standard operational procedures".

The parachute display team is made up of permanent and reserve members of all ranks and services in Ireland's armed forces.
