Teenage driver dies after car goes into ditch

A 19-year-old driver has died after his car left the road and entered a ditch in East Sussex.

Sussex Police said a white Citroen C3 was travelling northbound on Wartling Road, Pevensey, when the incident happened at around 21:00 BST on Friday.

The sole occupant of the car, from Eastbourne, was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Anyone who saw the car in the area before the incident are being urged to come forward.

Sussex Police said it is also keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage or who may have stopped at the scene.
